A ski resort client was interested in communicating with their lodging guests while they were visiting the resort, in order to increase ancillary spending.
This resort used an interface between Konvey and their property management system to gain access to the arrival and departure dates of their lodging guests.
As the resort was also a client using Dirigo’s Edge ski platform for their website, it was easy to interface with their website database, making available all of their upcoming event data. This allowed them to add a short list of upcoming events - including those taking place that day - to the mailing.
By creating a trigger to send a well-constructed mailing to customers that were most likely on-property, the resort was able to increase the money being spent by their lodging guests at their apres-ski bar locations, restaurants and retail outlets. It also created a unique opportunity to include ‘insider’ tips and ideas for enjoying their stay, finding the best snow conditions on the mountain and learning about any great specials or deals that were currently available.
The filter that was used to send mailings to only those lodging guests currently on property was configured to mail to:
Those guests whose next arrival date was before or equal to ‘today.’
Those guests whose next departure date was greater than or equal to ‘today.’
